A device called “Citizen engagement permit” which allows the young person to access once assessed sesame, and associations to recover labor, like Eden 62. The association has decided to deforest part of the Bellenville area to find the original meadow.
“It was a poplar forest, we decided to find the wet meadow which was an environment very rich in flora and fauna”, explains Emmanuelle Leveugle, departmental councilor and president of Eden 62.
A click for some young people
The association called on 8 young people aged 15 to 17. In two days, they cleared 1,500 m2 of surface. They worked their quota of hours, they benefited from the reduction of 400 euros on their driving license.
“It is not negligible 400 euros for the license”, testifies a young person. “We work, but we discover and we learn at the same time. It allows us to have knowledge and we are paid in return.”
“We do not have the impression of working, we learn, we laugh, we have fun”, testifies another. “There, we do 35 hours, while we could be on vacation like all the others, but here we are committed to helping to clean up nature,” adds a third. A help for some, a click for others who continue their associative commitment after their 35 hours. Each year, 2000 young people benefit from this program.
