Nice success of the AimarGazelles race
The Aimar’Gazelles association fights against breast cancer. It was a resounding success with the runners since they were more than 500 to register at 9 a.m., Sunday, October 24. A festive atmosphere with a refreshment bar allowed all the participants of this fourth edition to be able to quench their thirst as best as possible. At around 10:30 a.m., they all gathered in the arenas to pay a vibrant tribute to Tania Lafond, the founder of the association, who died in 2020 of breast cancer at the age of 43. The speeches of the mayor Jean-Paul Franc and of Maria-Dolorés Garcia the president of AimarGazelles were very applauded. A release of balloons and dances allowed the many participants to warm up before the marked race in the streets of the village. At 11:30 a.m., runners on foot, on bicycles, scooters and others were able to set off to do the course one or more times as they wished. Some left in disguise, others with their companion dogs on a leash. They left in groups of about fifty, with children of all ages, happy to be with their parents on this beautiful sunny Sunday. Previously, they had been able to go to the Jacques Serre room to see the eighteen stands dedicated to care and well-being with associations such as Étincelle lieu de Montpellier as well as Les Roses du Gard lieu de Générac. After the class, a 170-seat meal was served in the Lucien Dumas room followed by the original performance of Pin’ups dressed in vintage who danced to delight to the delight of all.
All the funds collected for the race, the refreshment bar, the meals, as well as the donations are intended for the fight against breast cancer with the help of the many supports offered by the various associations as well as for research on cancers in general.
