Corona: 3,369 new infections on the national holiday in Austria
In the last 24 hours, 18 corona deaths have been registered in Austria, the seven-day average was 11.9 daily. A total of 11,279 people have died from or with Covid-19 so far. For the 3,369 new infections were slightly below the average for the past seven days (3,508). The seven-day incidence was 274.9 cases per 100,000 residents, it said on Tuesday.

Most new infections in Lower Austria and Upper Austria
According to federal states, the most new infections were in Upper Austria with 821, Lower Austria (689), Salzburg and Vienna with 422 each and Styria (3). Tyrol reported 288, Carinthia 122 and Burgenland (112), which this time had more new cases than Vorarlberg with 107.

With the national holiday there were 33,210 active cases in Austria, 1,136 more than on Monday. There have been 804,825 confirmed cases since the pandemic began. 760,336 people have recovered, 2,215 within the last 24 hours.
Increasing numbers in hospitals
There are currently 1,168 people in the hospital, 70 more. 244 people are cared for in intensive care units. That number has increased by twelve since Monday and has increased by 25 patients in a week. A total of 478,046 tests were registered in the past 24 hours, of which 125,794 were meaningful PCR tests. Their positive rate was 2.7 percent.
8,006 vaccinations were carried out on Monday. According to the data in the e-vaccination pass, a total of 5,857,926 received at least one partial vaccination: that is 65.6 percent of the population. 5,566,861 and thus 62.3 percent of Austrians are fully immunized.

The vaccination coverage rate is highest in Burgenland at 69.7 percent. In Lower Austria 65.1 percent of the population are vaccinated, in Styria 63 percent. After Vienna (61.5), Vorarlberg (61.2), Tyrol (60.6), Carinthia (58.9) and Salzburg (58.6), Upper Austria brings up the rear with a vaccination coverage rate of 57.3 percent.
The federal state with the highest 7-day incidence is currently Salzburg with 415.2, and supplies from Upper Austria, Lower Austria, and Lower Austria (401.4, 287.6 and 261.6, respectively). Carinthia (256.2), Tyrol (238.8), Vorarlberg (194.9), Vienna (186.3) and Burgenland (164.5) also follow.
