Karting – The first international electric kart championship in Monaco
The first international 100% electric karting championship, the Monaco E-Kart Championship, will see the light of day. From November 13 to 28, 300 candidates (100 maximum per category) will take part in three detection weekends in the Principality. Three MEKC 2022 shuttlecocks, one per age category (Mini, Junior and Senior) and worth € 147,000, are to be filled.
Detection weekends will take place as: the day of Saturday devoted to a first detection with a maximum of 100 pilots per age category. Twelve finalists compete on Sunday on the circuit. The jury will then elect the winner of the steering wheel, participating for free and in the entire Monaco E-Kart Championship 2022.
The six meetings (12 races) of electric karts will take place next year on city circuits (three in Monaco, two in Nice and Menton and one in Italy). The championship offer an identical number of test days for each competitor and identical equipment for all: engine power from 7 kW to 25 kW depending on the category, Charles Leclerc chassis by Birel Art, tires, set up and minimum weight gauge in each category.
