Toulouse: imminent launch of the low emission zone (ZFE)
The Low Emission Zone (ZFE), which prohibits the circulation of the most polluting vehicles, now delayed, should finally be launched soon.
The ZFE will emerge from a period of uncertainty created by the government itself. The establishment of this perimeter, which prohibits the most polluting vehicles, in Toulouse and to the west as far as the Arc-en-ciel ring road, was to take place on October 4. But the Cilmat and Resilience law promulgated on August 24th caused a legal doubt by evoking the need for a new preliminary impact study.
The mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, and the prefect, Étienne Guyot, have since remained awaiting clarification from the government part. This Thursday morning, Jean-Luc Moudenc announced during the inauguration. of a new Tisséo bus line, having obtained a response from Minister Barbara Pompili who informed him of the “imminent” publication of a decree authorizing the establishment of the ZFE. “As soon as the decree is published, we will launch the ZFE,” said Jean-Luc Moudenc without specifying a date.
The ZFE will first concern trucks and utility vehicles this year.
