Lyon overthrows Sparta Prague, Monaco narrowly wins
To close the first leg of the Europa League 2021-22 edition; Lyon, Marseille and Monaco were on the road to Sparta Prague, Lazio de Rome and PSV Eindhoven respectively. An evening that smiled at the Rhone club after being led to the score (3-4) as well as to the Principality club which won at the last moment (1-2)…
A Lyon with reaction
The evening could have turned into a nightmare in the Czech capital. The scoreboard was 2-0 in favor of Sparta Prague against Olympique Lyonnais, thanks to a brace from Lukáš Haraslín (4th and 19th). However, the Lyonnais have found the necessary resources to reverse the trend. The brightening in the dark sky of Prague came from Cameroonian Karl Toko-Ekambi, who unlocked Lyon’s goal counter in this meeting (42nd). The Lyon striker is in good shape in the Europa League and scored his 4th but in three games. The 5th will not have been long in coming since it intervenes in this match in the 88th minute, to close the spectacle on the Lyon side.
In the meantime, Houssem Aouar found the way to equalize (53rd), while Lucas Paquetá also showed up to clean the skylight (68th). Note the exclusion of Malo Gusto in the 74th minute following a second yellow card. Sparta Prague limited the damage with a goal in the final moments signed Ladislav Krejčí (90 + 6). Olympique Lyonnais won away and totaled nine points in first place in their group.

Monaco in extremis
On the Eindhoven side, the French UEFA index is also a source of celebration. AS Monaco snatched a victory thanks to Sofiane Diop’s goal in the 88th minute (1-2). Unlike OL, the Principality’s club opened the scoring with Myron Boadu who scored his first but of the season (19th). The Monegasque striker could even have doubled the bet on an unfortunately missed opportunity in a duel with the goalkeeper of the Dutch club (40th). However, ASM was joined in the score with the equalizer of Cody Gakpo. To see the Monegasque ship once again set sail, we had to wait for this famous one, but two minutes from the end of regular time. Like Lyon, AS Monaco is the leader of its group at the halfway point, with seven points.

Reckless and daring, our Red and Whites snatched an important victory for this 200th European Cup match.
Thanks guys.

Unlike its French counterparts, Marseille is trampling
The evening was less good for the Marseillais, unable to shake the nets on the side of Rome. Facing Lazio, the Phocaeans fell on a good Ciro Immobile ready to ignite the Stadio Olimpico, four times. A first danger with a half-volley that finished above the Marseille cages (51st), a second with a but turned out to be offside (58th), before an attempt which came crashing into the crossbar (69th). Finally in the last moments, the Italian benefited from the match point but lost his duel against the Marseille goalkeeper, Pau Lopez, who made a remarkable and ultra-determining exit (87th). No but in this meeting but the return match is scheduled in two weeks at the Vélodrome. Marseille are third in their group after the third draw in the Europa League.

Note that in the Europa League Conference, the Rennais won on the road against the club NS Mura (2-1). The situation was cleared by a penalty in favor of the Bretons. The offering is transformed by Serhou Guirassy (17th). A short lead since the equalizer comes three minutes later (20th). It was then a goal from Gaëtan Laborde who put Rennes back on the right track (41st), on the road to first place in his group …
