Taxi driver attacked in Salzburg-Itzling – SALZBURG24
A taxi driver was attacked in the city of Salzburg early this morning on Wednesday. The perpetrator threatened the woman with a knife and then fled with her wallet, with a spokeswoman for the state police department opposite the APA.
Ambushed taxi driver in Mozart city
The suspect got into the taxi shortly after 8:30 a.m. at Makartplatz in the center of town. First, he had himself taken to the airport and then on to the main train station and Salzburg-Itzling, according to a police broadcast. When the 53-year-old driver wanted the money for the trip, the man is said to have drawn the knife, held it to the woman’s body and asked for her wallet with the words “give me wallet”.
Since the woman did not react immediately and began to scream, the perpetrator snatched the purse with an unknown amount of cash and fled into town. The stranger was dressed in a light beige hooded down jacket, white sweatpants and white sneakers. The man spoke broken German and is described as a southerner. The taxi driver was unharmed, the Red Cross looked after the woman at the crime scene. An immediately initiated manhunt has so far been unsuccessful.
Only a week ago there was an attack on a taxi driver in the city of Salzburg.
