Vienna / Offenburg (A / D) sevDesk, provider of cloud-based accounting software for self-employed and small businesses from Germany, opens its first international branch in Austria. With its user-friendly cloud solution, sevsk is well on the way to becoming a major problem solver for 6.4 million self-employed in Germany and Austria. Most recently, the company received 50 million euros in a Series B financing round led by US investor Arena Holdings. Now the money is being invested in the expansion.
Founded in 2013 by Fabian Silberer and Marco Reinbold, the start-up sevDesk shot rapidly among the top 3 relevant software providers on the German market. The steadily increasing number of customers confirms the success of the software, because it is easy to master, has a high degree of automation and relies on cloud-based web and smartphone applications. In this way, users reduce their accounting work by up to 80 percent – this saves time and money and allows entrepreneurs to concentrate on their actual business.
In addition to Germany, sevDesk is already very present in Austria. So far, the Austrian market has been served from Germany. But this year sevDesk will found a subsidiary in Vienna and open a new office location. The aim is to adapt the product even better to the market, to support Austrian customers more intensively and to win new users.
Florian Ziegler is the Austrian head of sevDesk
Country Manager Florian Ziegler will be in charge of the new location. As head of the growth and sales department in a global IT company for several years, he was responsible, among other things, for international expansion. Ziegler specializes in growth management / expansion and can also fall back on experience as a founder himself.
“As a lead, I am responsible for establishing country management and the further development of business activities and partnerships for sevDesk in Austria,” explains Ziegler. “I act as an internal contact person for the Austrian market needs and lead the team on site.”
Employee search for a new office at Vienna Central Station
The new branch will initially be in a coworking space at Vienna Central Station. The central location ensures an optimal infrastructure for future employees. “We see the Vienna personnel market as an opportunity for sevDesk to bring great talent on board,” said Fabian Silberer, CEO of sevDesk, happily. “We are primarily starting in the area of sales, tax advisor and customer support, as well as marketing. In the long term, an expansion as a tech location is also conceivable. ”
sevDesk attaches great importance to its start-up culture and interaction on an equal footing. “We want to enable our employees to make responsible decisions without being hindered by bureaucratic processes and rigid rules. Our corporate culture should also set standards in Vienna and be a good reason why talented people choose us, ”explains Silberer.
With the new location, sales, marketing and the overall presence of sevDesk in Austria are to be strengthened. “We also want to deepen and strengthen our cooperation with Austrian tax consultants,” said Zie. Silberer takes a look into the future: “In Austria we are clearly striving for market leadership in our segment for a longer period of time and we are aiming to maintain it.”
Software adjustments to Austrian requirements
The adjustments for the Austrian market focus, for example, on the connections to the accounting software BMD and Finanz Online. In addition, sevDesk will ensure that all functions comply with Austrian legislation.
“Especially in our declared core target group, the self-employed, sole proprietorships and small businesses, the accounting is often still done with Excel tables or even handwritten”, Ziegler. “We want to make life easier for precisely these entrepreneurs and support them with our intelligent platforms to save time and money.”
Since the software was launched in 2014, sevDesk GmbH, based in Offenburg, has developed into a rapidly growing provider of digital accounting. The same product sevDesk offers a cloud-based solution for self-employed, freelancers and small companies with up to ten employees. Accounting tasks, from invoicing to advance sales tax returns and income-surplus invoices to working with the tax advisor, are made easier and more efficient thanks to sevDesk. SevDesk relies on automation, artificial intelligence and mobile working through cloud-based web and smartphone applications. 190 employees now work at the two company locations in Offenburg and Vienna.
