The Weeknd concerts in 2022 in Portugal were canceled
The two concerts by the Canadian musician A Semana em Portugal, in October 2022, were canceled, revealed this Monday, the promoter Tudo é Novo.
The musician would perform on October 25th and 26th, 2022, at Arena Altice, in Lisbon, and both dates were practically sold out for several months.
The dates in Portugal would be part of the new world tour to present the “After Hours”, but the musician decided to reformulate the show and readjust a tour, which only came back in the summer of 2022, affecting the passage through Portuguese stages.
In a message on Facebook’s social network, a promoter explains that “all online ticket buyers will be refunded automatically” from Wednesday, October 20, 2021, “within a maximum period of 30 days”. “For those who purchased tickets in physical stores, they can request a refund within a maximum period of 60 working days, from October 20, 2021 to January 14, 2022, without original point of sale, upon presentation of the ticket and proof of purchase,” explains the prosecutor.
In an advertisement on social media, The Weeknd announced that it would change the start of the new tour to the summer of 2022 and that it intends to redesign the show itself. “Changed to venue restrictions and requests for more concerts, I want to do something bigger and special that requires stadiums,” the musician said in the ad, alluding to room capacity and limitations due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Weeknd says new dates will be announced.
