Sassuolo, the Benvenuti twins called up with San Marino Under 17
Giacomo and Tommaso Welcome, twins born in 2006 who play in the Sassuolo Under 16 of coach Baiocchi, have been called up by the coach of the San Marino Under 17 Gianluca Leoni for the first qualifying phase for the European category, the final phase of which will be held in May 2022 in Israel. The two full-backs have already had several training sessions with the titanic team: one on Monday 27 September and another three between Saturday 9 and Monday 11 October, taking advantage of the championship break.
San Marino was included in the Group 6 with Germany, Russia and Romania: the latter nation will host all the matches of the group. The departure is scheduled for today, at the end of the training session in Serravalle and the day after the victory against Ascoli, while the debut will be on Wednesday 20 October at 15 against Germany. To follow the challenges against the Russia (Saturday 3 pm) and against the hosts of the Romania, where the neroverde militates Adrian Caragea. In addition to Giacomo and Tommaso Benvenuti, there are five other players in 2006 (all the others are 2005, one year older) and only two other players play in professional clubs: Giacobbi in Bologna and even in Cesena.
