Literature festival “Austria reads” started – Culture Vienna
The 16th edition of the literature festival “Austria reads. Library meeting point” started on Monday.
Once again, librarians from all federal states invite you to more than 300 events for one week. In addition to readings by authors such as Franzobel, Daniel Wisser, Mieze Medusa and Monika Czernin, the additional offerings range from poetry evenings to picture book cinema.
Events in libraries
After the edition held last year due to Corona, the library association is now looking forward to analog events in numerous community and parish libraries, school libraries, university and technical college libraries as well as city and state libraries. “Despite the adverse circumstances, the interest of the books in organizing events during the” Austria Reads “week is particularly great this year,” said managing director Markus Feigl in a broadcast about the great commitment of the librarians.
There is also already a festival date for next year. “Austria Reads” will take place from October 17th to 23rd in 2022.
