Toulouse. An autumn in medieval colors at the Couvent des Jacobins
On the agenda for your fall vacation? Take part in the Couvent des Jacobins in activities around manuscripts, medieval fashion and the secrets of the builders, or even in a “Little Monsters” workshop on fantastic animals …
The animations
“The Manuscripts of the Middle Ages”
During this animation, you will discover, through the game of manipulation, how the copyist brothers made the manuscripts in a meticulous way. Parchment and illuminations will hold no secrets for you!
“How did people dress in the Middle Ages? “
Through this activity, you will discover how fashion evolved from the 13th to the 15th century. What were the outfits worn by the troubadour, the queen, the count of Foix or the baker? All the medieval clothing trends will be revealed to you!
“The Secrets of the Builders”
During this activity for young and old, come and discover the tools and techniques that the builders used in the Middle Ages. Become the thirteen knot rope specialists and build your own medieval vault!
“L’Atelier des Petits Monstres”
After a walk in search of the fantastic animals hidden in the architecture of the convent, let yourself be told a fabulous story about imaginary creatures of the Middle Ages.
Children will then be invited to create their own medieval little monster… and take home! Grrrrr!
