Update 10/15 at 2:26 p.m.
AS Monaco vice-president and general manager Oleg Petrov spoke to the National Assembly on Thursday to the information mission on audiovisual broadcasting rights for sporting events. The goal? Learn from the Mediapro fiasco.
After Jean-Michel Aulas (Lyon), Bernard Caiazzo (Saint-Etienne) or Pablo Longoria (Marseille), Oleg Petrov was also heard in the National Assembly as part of the parliamentary mission launched since early June on the financing of sport and sports audiovisual rights, for which the rapporteur is the French Riviera deputy Cédric Roussel.
Oleg Petrov thus answered Thursday morning in French to ten questions on different themes: the development of ASM and the vision of its owner Dmitri Rybolovlev, the situation with the current broadcasters of the L1 or the main areas of progress for the seasons to come.
The mission, made up of 12 deputies, has auditioned in recent weeks with leaders and players in French football in order to clarify the reasons for the Mediapro fiasco and draw the right lessons to continue the development of French sport.
It is due to present its conclusions shortly.
