In Florence, bike sharing increases the fleet: discounts for those who park well and integration with public transport
Wider tires to be more suitable for the Florentine streets, especially the more performing engine center and the padlock eliminated, with the closure taking place through the app. It is the new fleet of bicycles presented by RideMovi for bike sharing: one thousand pedal assisted bikes (but the request has already been made to double the number) and two thousand traditional bikes, also revised in their design and color (now they are gray).
“These are innovative models that are now in service in Florence, the first city in Italy. Bike sharing is a service that works and with these new means that will gradually replace the old models it will work better and better” explains the Councilor for Mobility of Palazzo Vecchio Stefano Giorgetti. Which, among other things, is also working on a project to make bike sharing passes integrated with the rest of local public transport.
“We are thrilled – adds Alessandro Felici, CEO of BikeMovi – to present a preview here today of an innovative and extraordinary fleet in terms of design, performance and comfort that will make Florence increasingly eco-sustainable”. And there is already a project to guarantee a reward to those who will correctly leave the vehicles to avoid wild parking.
