Mike James (Monaco): “Off the pitch, I joke most of the time all day”
The Euroleague is producing a documentary in English called “The Insider Documentary Series: Crossed Paths” and this time it is Toko Shengelia (2.06m, 30 years old) and Mike James (1.85m, 31 years old), who are the guests. The neo-Monegasque has been the Georgian’s teammate in Vitoria and at CSKA Moscow.
Toko Sengelia: “For me, religion, my country and my family are the three important things in my life. Believing in God is a way of life for me. I have felt his blessings since I was a little child and since then I have felt that God is in my life every day.
“The work ethic is why I am where I am right now. This is something I call my talent. If you don’t work hard, if you don’t work harder than others, you will just be on the same level as everyone else. So if you want to be better than someone, I think you have to work harder than anyone in the room.
Mike James: “I think I’m a totally different person off the pitch. I think off the pitch I joke most of the time all day, singing, laughing to myself making fun of people. That’s basically who I am 93% of the day. I think in matches sometimes I’m a little too emotional.
“(About Vitoria): It was a special team and it was special to be part of it. I keep in touch with a lot of these guys, which just shows just how close we are.
