1. FC Köln: Südkurve 1. FC Köln eV comments on the spectator situation
Cologne –
Normality is slowly returning to normal in the stadiums of the German Bundesliga clubs. At least in terms of the amount of fans who are there live at the games. It will take some time before everything is back to the way it was before the pandemic.
Personalized cards, the 2G scheme. All of this causes trouble, especially with the Ultras. The south curve 1. FC Köln e. V., an amalgamation of various Cologne fan clubs, has now responded to the current situation with a statement and stated that “there WILL be no organized support for the groups affiliated with us until further notice”.
The statement in full:
Although the situation is still dynamic, the move to a full card contingent was longed for by many. However, we are still in an epidemic situation and can only enter the curve under certain conditions. Without wanting to evaluate these in detail, it is in the nature of things that there are different views on this, which we should try to try as best as possible under one roof. Even if this does not apply to unworldly opinions, of course, we respect and accept the different positions within the community of 1. FC Köln and the Südkurve. This also applies to the fact that visiting a stadium is currently not conceivable for all of our members. As already mentioned, our stadium experience is defined by both the football game and the community. For this reason, there will be no organized support for the groups affiliated with us until further notice. We are aware that our words offer a certain scope for interpretation and therefore make it clear that under no circumstances do we want to be mentioned in the same breath as “corona deniers” or similar stray people. Detailed information will follow at another point in time. Of course we are available for all FC fans.
