FC SKINY Südburgenland: Bitter 0: 4 in the “six-point game” near Innsbruck
FC Südburgenland missed important points in a direct duel with Wacker Innsbruck.
SOUTH BURGENLAND. After the first point in the new season against Altach / Vorderland, the Senft-Elf should win another point in Innsbruck. In a rather moderate first half, however, the southern Burgenland women struggled. The last bite in the game forward was a little missing.
On the other hand, Innsbruck was also rather unspectacular. The first 45 minutes were marked by a lot of fighting on both sides, but without any high-profile scenes. Dora Fabian had the best opportunity for Südburgenland with a shot just wide of the goal (18th). In return, Sandra Vojtane narrowly missed. A Schandl shot attempt too weak in a scene field (31st).
Unfortunate 1-0
While southern Burgenland women die a few times – at least twice, probably wrongly – because of offside, the Innsbruck women benefited from an (initially) controversial scene before the break. At first the assistant had the flag at the ball from Wagner to Lemesova, but the referee overrolled it and gave the goal to the Slovak (41.).
Voitane, who was probably offside, did not intervene – also because the ball was unfortunately deflected by Hanna Graf into the run of goal scorer Lemesova – so the decision to score is also correct.
Double blow to the decision
After changing sides, the guests increased the pressure and played pleasantly forward. However, real opportunities remained hanging on the last pass. In this pressure phase, the Innsbruck women used a carelessness and Annalena Monz scored to 2-0 (58th). Only a minute later it was Sandra Voitane on the counterattack who practically tied the sack.
Even after that, the women from southern Burgenland showed morale and tried everything to at least make cosmetic results. In the counterattack, the locals remained dangerous and Balbi had to save against Voitane (61st) and Hochmuth (81st). After a tough start against Emily Planer, Diana Lemesova rightly saw yellow-red (83rd). Substitute Antonia Hintner even managed to make it 4-0 (87th). With this, Southern Burgenland “took over” the Red Lantern from Innsbruck again.
Deserved 1: 1 draw for the 1b team
In the duel between the 1b teams, Maike Groszmann headed the Südburgenlanders into the front after just two minutes after a corner. After that, the Innsbruck women had a hard time against the guests’ compact defense. The young women from southern Burgenland held up well against the favored Innsbruck women and bravely against it.
Before the break, after a nice action, captain Laura Hartlieb managed to equalize with a shot into the Kreuzeck. Even after the break, both teams showed an attractive performance, with the finish in southern Burgenland even being slightly overweight. Ultimately, however, it stayed at a fair 1: 1.
