Montauban. Cine debates this weekend at CGR Le Paris
As part of the exhibition On the Syrian Front, visible at the Resistance and Combatant Museum, the CGR Le Paris cinema offers two film debates. An exchange will follow the screenings, with Myriam Benraad, political scientist, doctor of political science from the Institut d’Études Politiques in Paris, specialist in Iraq and the Middle East.
Saturday October 9 at 3 p.m. “9 days in Raqqa”. Documentary by Xavier de Lausanne. Leila Mustapha, 30, civil engineer, three times major in her class, is the young mayor of Raqqa, the former self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic state in Syria. Immersed in a world of men, her mission is to rebuild her city in ruins after the war, to reconcile and to establish democracy.
Sunday October 10 at 6 p.m. “Still recording”. Documentary by Saaed Al Batal, Ghiath Ayoub. In 2011, Saeed in his twenties, an engineering student, left Damascus for Douma (Eastern Ghouta) and took part in the Syrian revolution. He will be joined later by his friend Milad, painter and sculptor, then a student of fine arts in Damascus.
