Nursing staff is missing: empty beds in Salzburg hospitals
140 beds are empty in the university hospital because there are too few staff. In an inquiry, the SPÖ wants to know how many layoffs there were due to Corona.
Changes have been made in the Hallein Hospital. Due to a lack of nursing staff, there is no longer a bed ward in the gynecology department at the weekend. Patients who recovered in the hospital after gynecological operations would be cared for in other wards, says the medical director of the hospital, Michael Reschen. “The measure does not restrict our operating room capacities,” says Reschen. Because of the tight personal situation, this measure had to be taken to relieve the staff.
