UN Ministerial Conference on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management
Today, the Secretary of State for the Territory and the Environment Stefano Canti took part in the meeting of the ministries of the member states dedicated to urban development, housing and land management at the headquarters of the United Nations – UN in Geneva . In his speech at the Meeting, the Secretary of State underlined the policies that the Republic of San Marino is implementing in the field of urban regeneration in order to make the country safer and more inclusive. The environmental, economic and technological management and sustainability policies are in fact the basis of the main management and management tools of the territory, such as the General Management Plan and the UNESCO Site Management Plan. The Secretary of State described the San Marino state contribution system aimed at supporting families residing in the Republic of San Marino in their housing needs in the territory and the San Marino policies on building redevelopment, sustainable mobility efficiency. He then proceeded to focus on the production of energy from renewable sources with reference to the mechanism, which makes the Republic of San Marino unique in the world on the subject, called “on-site exchange” at a distance. In describing the technological accessibility, he highlighted the project of our network from a public property perspective, which offers citizens and companies the best performance, at advantageous economic conditions and which guarantees access to the internet to any resident with performance of ultra-wide band. The work of the Assembly will end tomorrow, while those of the Urban Development Committee will take place on Friday 8 October, during which the Secretary of State will have a further opportunity to speak.

This meeting at the level of ministers represents for San Marino an important opportunity for discussion with other States on common themes. In fact, in these days we will have the opportunity to hold numerous bilateral meetings with the Ministers of the other member countries of the United Nations ”.
