The urban trekking of “Artigianato & Aperitivo” is back in Florence
FLORENCE – To get to know Florence, its history, its shops, its typical flavors, the urban trekking of “Handicraft & Aperitif” returns, to discover the ancient craftsmen’s trades. In Florence, the stages of this journey (in total there are 16 events throughout the region) which combines curiosity, culture and taste, will take place in four events, from 7 October to 4 November.
The program
Thursday 7 October the “Red City” itinerary accompanies the discovery of the Sant’Ambrogio district, nicknamed the “red city” for the color of the houses, built with bricks of that color and present throughout the block where celebrations were held goliardic organized by lay associations and cheering brigades (later dismantled in 1629 by Cosimo II). During the tour you can see how the decorated plates of the Sbigoli Terracottas are born.
Thursday 21 October with “The Masterpiece of literature” we walk in the Oltrarno, through the streets and squares told by Vasco Pratolini in the novel “The girls of San Frediano”, stopping in the Ippogrifo art print shop.
Thursday 28 October “A tunnel for Florence” reveals the secrets of the palace that he had built in the fifteenth century Luca Pitti and which in the following centuries became the palace of the Medici and, after them, of the Lorraine and the Savoy: a building so loved that it was transformed to be more and more imposing and even put in communication with a secret passage with the Palazzo di Bianca Cappello, lover of Francesco I. During the tour a visit to the designer’s tailor’s shop is scheduled Tiziana Alemanni.
The last appointment, Thursday 4 November, is with the urban trekking “The queen bee”, in Piazza Santissima Annunziata, the square that since the mid-fifteenth century contains the idea of the Renaissance (guarded by the equestrian statue of Grand Duke Ferdinand I).
«During the tour there will be a visit to the Maselli art workshop, famous for its frames.
“This initiative was born four years ago and was immediately successful in Florence – he explains Sara Biagiotti, vice president of Artex – The proposal for the second year is addressed to Coop members and is extended to other Tuscan cities. The excursions are designed for those who leave work and, in the company of colleagues, friends, family or even alone, want to relax by taking a walk in their city. An expert guide of ‘Going to Zonzo’ will accompany visitors to discover the neighborhood, they will enter the artisan shop and finally taste the aperitif. A different way to learn more about the traditions of Tuscan cities. Each datum will have a theme that will be the leitmotif of the excursions ».
