Samsung Electronics Italia announces today at the University of Verona, the launch of the new edition of Samsung Innovation Camp, a project developed in collaboration with Randstad, an international agency specializing in HR services, which was created with the aim of accompanying students of Italian universities in a training course dedicated to digital innovation, aimed at offering those skills increasingly required by the labor market and preparing them to build the professional profiles of the future.
Focus this year, the enhancement of the naturalistic, artistic and cultural heritage through digital innovation, with the aim of supporting the Culture and Tourism sector, hard hit in this complex historical moment. Despite, in fact, during the most critical moments of the pandemic, we have witnessed an explosion of digital initiative to move the world of culture from the physical dimension to the online one – 80% of Italian museums, for example, offered at least 1 content during periods of restrictions (Source: Politecnico di Milano Digital Innovation Observatory) – both sectors, strongly connected to each other and very strategic for the country’s economy, have suffered heavy losses. In 2020 alone, museums in Italy lost 75% of visitors and 78% of revenues (Source: Statistical Office of Sistan, National Statistical System of the Ministry of Culture) while the losses in the tourism sector are almost 64 billion (Source: Istat).
In this scenario it is located Samsung Innovation Camp, program now in its fifth edition, which has formed until now over 30,000 students from 21 universities throughout Italy. L’University of Verona is one of the first universities involved, together with the University of Eastern Piedmont, University of Trento and University of Catania, with the common goal of making a contribution to the relaunch and enhancement of the new ones in our country, giving new impetus to the tourism and cultural sector in the near future.
Samsung Innovation Camp is a project that is fully part of Samsung’s Corporate Social Responsibility vision “Together for Tomorrow! Enable people ”. By offering training opportunities at various levels, Samsung is alongside students, teachers, academics to help them acquire the fundamental skills related to the world of innovation and digital, to encourage the development of soft skills and entry into the world of work. and to allow the innovators of tomorrow to reach their full potential and become the new leaders who will guide the processes of positive evolution in the social sphere.
“For 30 years Samsung has been committed to spreading the culture of digital in Italy, contributing concretely to the cause with various training projects that aim to offer different segments of the population all the tools, knowledge, creativity and empathy necessary to thrive in a future driven by technology, ah commentator Anastasia Buda, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager of Samsung Electronics Italia. “Among the initiatives aimed at university students, Innovation Camp stands out. The new edition of this initiative is designed to respond to two different needs, both of which are extremely urgent: on the one hand, it is essential to reduce the so-called skill mismatch or the ever-widening gap between the skills required by the market and those actually available. In fact, digital is creating new professions and new profiles that public and private companies struggle to find on the market because they lack adequate skills. On the other hand, we must give new impetus to local economies with tourism hard hit in these months of pandemic through the enhancement of new initiatives in the territorial world, finding new ways to promote them in the world, primarily with new digital tools. With Innovation Camp, together with universities and local institutions, we work to help our young people express their talent and become promoters of positive social change, through innovation, in support of the growth and relaunch of Italy “.
