by our correspondent in Dubai, Diego Casali
A pact in the name of friendship. The sign of a collaboration that is consolidated even after more than 4 thousand kilometers from the boot. The cooperation between the General Commissariats for the participation of Italy and San Marino in Expo 2020 Dubai was the focus of a memorandum of understanding signed in Dubai a few hours after the official inauguration of the pavilions of the two countries at the first Universal Exposition in the world Arabic.
The cooperation between the two countries was established in the light of a universe of shared values of a historical, territorial and linguistic nature as well as a continuity and important bilateral cooperation in the economic and tourism field also sanctioned by the last important meetings at ministerial level and by collaboration reciprocal in international organizations.
To sign the memorandum of understanding signed iccommissioners Mauro Maiani (San Marino) e Paolo Glisenti (Italy) in the presence of the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Benedetto Della Vedova and the Secretary of State for Tourism and Expo Federico Pedini Amati. The aim of the agreement is to foster sincere collaboration in the Expo area, articulated in a reciprocal and direct flow of communications and information that favor visits by delegations, suppliers and new stakeholders to Dubai. The final objective will therefore be to guarantee support and visibility to the initiatives planned by the individual Pavilions in the most salient moments of the event.
“The signing of this protocol – said the Commissioner of San Marino Maiani – formally establishes a collaboration that has already been started between the two Commissioners in the preparation phase for Expo and I certainly believe that a close synergy between the two Pavilions will be useful for both of which will benefit from mutual visibility. I thank the Italian Commissioner for the availability and friendship shown towards San Marino“.
“The agreement marks a useful collaboration for both pavilions and for all the synergies that can be achieved on their respective programs. It is a sign of friendship towards San Marino, which has a great experience of participating in the Universal Expositions and from which we have a lot to learn,”Declared the Italian Commissioner Glisenti for his part.
