Florence, road works and new construction sites are underway: the viability changes – Chronicle

Florence, 3 October 2021 – The redevelopment of the public lighting system in via del Ponte in Greve and work for the new cycle path in Viale Segni. But also a connection to the gas distribution network in via del Sodo and intervention on a closed of the sewer in via San Niccolò. These are some of the works that will start next week on the roads. Here’s the list.

Via del Ponte in Greve-via Neri di Bicci: will start on Monday October 4th the redevelopment of the public lighting system. The intervention is divided into successive phases: it begins with the closure of via del Ponte a Greve in the section via Neri di Bicci-via Pisana (until October 17). Alternative itinerary: viuzzo del Roncolino-viale Nenni-via Pestalozzi-via Pisana. This is followed by the second phase (until 21 October) with a ban on transit always in via del Ponte a Greve in the stretch via Bugiardini-via Neri di Bicci. There is also a one-way street in via Neri di Bicci from via Bugiardini towards via del Ponte a Greve. Alternative itinerary: via Bugiardini-via Neri di Bicci-via del Ponte a Greve. The third phase, scheduled from 22 October to 1 November, provides for roadway narrowings at times and parking bans always in via del Ponte a Greve. In the fourth phase, from 2 to 8 November, the works will move to via Neri di Bicci with narrow lanes and stopping bans at times.




Via San Leonardo: for the maintenance of a building the road will be closed from Monday 4 October. The section concerned is the one between via Schiapparelli and viale Galileo. In via Schiaparelli the one-way street towards viale Machiavelli will be established. Deadline 2 November.

Via di Sant’Orsola: from Monday 4 October a ban on transit from via Taddea in the direction of via Guelfa (already without background) will be in force due to restoration of the Sant’Orsola complex. Deadline is January 31st.

Via di San Niccolò: interventions on a closed sewer network are scheduled from Monday 4 October. Until 9 October the road will be closed between via dell’Olmo and piazza dei Mozzi.

Via del Sodo: work will begin on Monday 4 October for a new connection to the gas distribution network. A transit ban will be established between via Braccini and via Ciarpaglini. The intervention will end on 8 October.

Via Ice: another new connection to the gas distribution network. From Monday 4 October the road will be closed between via Panciatichi at the end of the road. Deadline scheduled for October 9th.




Via Schiapater: for building works with aerial platform, Monday 4 October from 9 am to 7 pm the section between via Sighele and via Locatelli will be closed

Via di Santo Spirito: also in this case we are talking about building works with aerial platform scheduled for Monday 4 October. From 9 to 19 there will be a ban on transit between via dei Geppi and via dei Coverelli. Alternative route: Lungarno Guicciardini-via dei Coverelli-via di Santo Spirito.

Viale Signs: work on the new cycle path will begin on Tuesday 5 October. A transit ban will be in force between via Nathan Cossuto and viale Gramsci (in the lane in the direction of via Nathan Cossuto and the parking area) until 5 November.

Via della Colonna: for lifting operations for the Archaeological Museum on Thursday 7 October from 1.30-5.30 the road will be closed between via della Pergola and via Gino Capponi. There is also a one-way street in Borgo Pinti (between via della Colonna and via Laura towards via Laura). Alternative itinerary for via Gino Capponi from Borgo Pinti-via Laura-via Gino Capponi; alternative itinerary for via Cesare Battisti from via della Pergola-via Sant’Egidio-via Bufalini-dei Pucci-via Cavour-piazza San Marco-via Cesare Battisti.




Costa del PozzoText: for an intervention with an aerial ladder, Thursday 7 October from 5-6 the road will be closed (between via Stracciatella and via dei Bardi); also closed piazza di Santa Maria Soprarno (between vicolo del Canneto and via dei Bardi), vicolo del Canneto (between Costa al Pozzo and piazza Santa Maria Soprarno), via Stracciatella (between Costa del Pozzo and piazza dei Rossi).
