The Salotti of Florence Capital. (In) credible conversation with Edmondo De Amicis
The President of the Municipal Council Luca Milani, on the 150th anniversary of the end of the celebrations in Firenze Capitale (1871-2021), strongly wanted the extraordinary opening of the rooms dedicated to Firenze Capitale to the Florentines to rediscover this very important period for our city and for Italy.
“The commitment continues – underlines the president Milani – in the care and memory of those historical and cultural events that have seen Florence as a protagonist. Special thanks to CRAL already BT with its President Liviana Martelli and Fabio Baronti with the Compagnia delle seggiole for the availability and enthusiasm with which it joined the initiative for three evenings with theatrical plays. The show “I Salotti di Firenze Capitale. Conversation (in) credible with Edmondo De Amicis “, provides a vivid portrait of the time, through the conversations of two rival and famous salons at the time, that of Madame Marie Studolmine Wyse Bonaparte, cousin of Napoleon III and wife of Urbano Rattazzi, former Prime Minister and the “red lounge” in via de ‘Benci by Donna Emilia Peruzzi, wife of Ubaldino, former minister and Mayor of Florence. Fundamental to re-establishing the realism of such historical places and moments, the locations that for Madame Bonaparte’s living room we have identified in the Sale di Firenze Capitale of Palazzo Vecchio, while for the red living room of Donna Peruzzi the ideal place is the Red Room of Palazzo Vecchio. “.
The public appreciated the performances reliving the atmosphere of over a century ago. A blast from the past, in a year – 1869 – when the parable of Florence, the capital of the kingdom, was about to close.
Today, Saturday 2 October and tomorrow, Sunday 3 October, three other performances, always lasting one hour each, scheduled at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm in the Florence Capital Rooms on the third floor of Palazzo Vecchio and in the Sala Rossa which is already sold out.
The show is organized in compliance with all the measures necessary for its safe performance.
