Montpellier vs Strasbourg predictions, preview, team news and more
This Saturday sees Montpellier face Strasbourg during a Ligue 1 match at the Mosson stadium. Montpellier currently occupies 14th place in the standings, while Strasbourg is now two places above them in 12th.
So who will emerge victorious in this clash between strong mid-table teams?
Montpellier vs Strasbourg face-to-face
Montpellier’s form has had its ups and downs since new coach Olivier Dall’Oglio took over this summer.
Until 2021-2022 they have won two games, drawn three and lost three, most recently to Paris Saint-Germain in what was in fact a courageous and encouraging performance.
Key forwards Andy Delort and Gaetan Laborde are big misses for Montpellier, but they haven’t suffered from the lack of goals thanks to the form of Stephy Mavididi, ValΓ¨re Germain and Teji Savanier. Montpellier has already scored 15 goals this season; only PSG have scored more in the current state of affairs.
Strasbourg, meanwhile, appeared to be in trouble after going winless in their first three games of the season. However, since then, high-flying victories over Brest, Metz and Lens have seen them climb the standings to 12th place.
The last Strasbourg match saw them bow, beaten by Lille and reduced to ten as well.
The recent results between these two teams have favored Montpellier. They have beaten Strasbourg in four of their last six competitive encounters.

Prediction Montpellier vs Strasbourg
It should be a close game to call, especially with Montpellier missing some key defenders. The home side certainly have the attacking talent to break through Strasbourg’s defense, but can they keep things tight enough at the back in turn?
Judging from what we’ve seen so far, it looks questionable. With that considered, a draw seems likely here.
