Swedbank provided 85 mln. EUR financing for the construction of the Homanit Lietuva plant Business
“The important stages of the construction of this factory are bald for the whole country, which does not allow Lithuanian furniture manufacturers to purchase more necessary components on site and thus allow shortening supply chains,” says Antanas Sagatauskas, Head of Corporate Banking at Swedbank.
According to A.Sagatauskas, this Homanit project is distinguished by high sustainability standards in production processes. For example, the new plant plans to install one of the most advanced particulate filtration systems that protects dust from entering the environment. The industrial waste generated will also be used for heat production, and the electricity supply will be checked using renewable energy sources.
“Our strategic goal is to be closer to our customers – furniture manufacturers. The decision of the Homanit Group to build its fourth plant in Lithuania shows not only the demand in the local market, but also its growth potential. We hope that this factory will contribute to the further success of the country’s wood and furniture industry and further strengthen the position of Lithuanian companies in the world. We are pleased that Swedbank would like to contribute to this significant project for the entire furniture sector, ”says Andrius Ostrauskas, Director of Homanit Lietuva.

The territory of the factory will cover an area of 40 hectares, the production buildings will occupy a total of about 64 thousand. sq.m. m and it is planned to employ more than 400 people here. The plant will create a full range of value-added, from the processing of raw wood to the complete processing of the board and the delivery of the final product.

Production capacity will reach about 260 thousand. cub. m. panels per year, and the Lithuanian plant will produce about 25 percent. all products of the Homanit Group.
