Spain adds the regions of Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary to the list of high-risk areas
Additional rules have been applied to tourists from Poland who have arrived in Spain since Monday 27 September, as the Spanish Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare has added the country to the list of high-risk areas.
At the same time, the regions of Moravian-Silesian and Prague in the Czech Republic and the regions of Pest and Northern Hungary in Hungary are now on the same list.
Passengers arriving in Spain from high-risk countries and territories are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, recovery from the virus in recent months, or negative test results for coronavirus if the passenger does not have either of the first two.
On the other hand, the Ministry has removed several Danish and Italian regions from the list due to the decrease in COVID-19 cases in their territory:
- The Danish regions of Central Denmark (Central Jutland) and Southern Denmark (Syddanmark)
- Italian regions of Molise, Piedmont, Lombardy
Passengers arriving in Spain traveling from these areas are no longer required to provide evidence of vaccination, recovery or negative COVID-19 test results.
One week ago, the Danish region of North Jutland was also removed from the list. With the same update, the whole territory of Romania and Slovakia was included in the list.
As of 27 September, the list of EU and Schengen high-risk countries and territories is as follows:

According to the list of epidemiologically safe third countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Moldova have been removed from the same list on the recommendation of the EU Council, while Chile, Kuwait and Rwanda have been added.
This means that Bosnians and Moldovans will no longer be allowed to enter without restriction, while travelers from Chile, Kuwait and Rwanda will no longer be subject to entry restrictions when entering Spain.
Therefore, as of Monday, the list of safe third countries consists of Australia, Chile, Canada, China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Jordan, Kuwait, Macao Special Administrative Region, New Zealand, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea and Ukraine, Taiwan, may enter Spain for non-essential purposes, regardless of vaccination.
