Toulouse en Libertés “annoyed” by Castex
Annoyance dominated this Saturday at the Prairie des Filters. The “Toulouse en Libertés” event was impacted by the arrival of the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, who is visiting the hotel. The police closed the access to the Pont Neuf, thus closing off the neighboring streets of the Saint-Cyprien district.
“It gives a strange impression of democracy under control. We are confused, annoyed” declared Jean-François Mignard, president of the League of Human Rights of Toulouse.
The Human Rights League, organizer of the event, promoted this site to capture the attention of walkers in Toulouse. Three round tables were held, including one on the state of emergency and security laws. “This debate is good. I do not think that those responsible are participating in this round table. They would have seen the gruesome situation we are experiencing today,” added the president of the Toulouse section. The organizers regret having learned of the closure of the sector upon their arrival. Some members were unable to install the necessary equipment for the event. “We weren’t warned!”
Despite the anger, the activists did not give up. “We will try to keep the minimum possible and keep those who were able to pass” conclusion Jean-François Mignard.
