An event to develop cycling and soft mobility in Toulouse
A dozen Toulouse collectives are given an appointment for an event called Saturday “vélorution” and were stated the delays in the development of soft mobility on September 25 in Toulouse.
About ten Toulouse collectives have responded to the national call launched by Alternatiba, ANV COP 21 and Action Climat France to “take back our territories” and denounce the delay in the development of soft mobility on Saturday 25 September. Among them, Greenpeace Toulouse, France nature environment Midi-Pyrénées, or even Two feet two wheels (2PDR). The event called “vélorution” brought together some 300 cyclists in Toulouse and in the 2PDR agglomeration, joined by Le Journal Toulousain; 250 according to the Haute-Garonne prefecture.

“Three hundred cyclists is not bad,” said 2P2R president Boris Kozlow. “The idea of this event was to show that all neighborhoods need development because the problem of mobility is not limited to Toulouse. The other neighborhoods also need to be connected. And crossing the Rocade by bike is complicated.
A week earlier, 2P2R took part in another action, symbolically marking out the route of the future Réseau express Vélo (REV) between Castelmaurou, Toulouse and St Lys Durant. The idea was to draw the attention of communities to this project involving 370 kilometers of cycling facilities, the work of which has not yet started. “This route crosses the city from East to West and passes through four communities of municipalities. It shows that there are no players involved in this project in addition to the departmental council, ”explains the president of 2P2R.
But there has been no sign of progress since this action was initiated. “Our interlocutor, who took care of the bicycle, left the municipal majority (Philippe Perrin, former municipal councilor in charge of cycling and roads, editor’s note). We will have a new one, but we do not know how sensitive it will be to the subject. With Mr Perrin, we felt a certain desire to make things happen ”, regrets Boris Kozlow.
