“Toulouse takes the key to the fields” this Sunday, September 26 at the Jardin des Plantes. Initiated by the Toulouse Town Hall, this event dedicated to respecting and enhancing nature in the city. This meeting, which takes place at the start of autumn, represents an opportunity for the people of Toulouse to explore the gardens. with strong heritage value and its natural spaces.

Animations on composting and waste reduction

On this Sunday day, Toulouse residents will be able to discover animations on composting but also on waste reduction and the fight against food waste. Workshops offered by the municipal service of gardens and green spaces with the participation of the Museum of the city and many associations active in the respect and promotion of nature in the city.

In addition to these animations, a fifteen educational stands will be installed. Thus, visitors will learn all kinds of tips relating to repotting techniques. Some workshops also allow them to train in permaculture or to participate in a seed collection workshop. Young and old will even be invited to learn how to reduce their waste and improve their composting. A cabinet of plant curiosity will be to discover.

Local products in the spotlight and readings on the theme of biodiversity

For their part, traders will highlight local products. On the menu: wines, pink garlic, jams, blueberry juice and vinegar, mountain honeys, liqueurs made from aromatic plants … Tastings will take place on site. Good news for the sweet tooth!

As part of this event, the Museum will offer, for the little ones, conferences on the theme of biodiversity and nature in the city from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Gardens and vegetable gardens, fruit, vegetables and garden animals will no longer hold any secrets for them!
