Toulouse: the 750 € from the sale of his phone was in fact “movie money”
A Toulouse woman was swindled by a teenager to whom she sold a smartphone.
The illusion was perfect and he took advantage of it. The sale of her mobile phone on the Leboncoin site turned into a scam to the detriment of a Toulouse woman, last March. Contacted by a buyer interested in his € 750 smartphone, she arranged to meet him in the center of the Pink City. A transaction was made in cash but the saleswoman had doubts and wanted to reassure herself with traders about the authenticity of the tickets. None of them was able to inform her. Tired of war, she let her young buyer leave with the telephone operator.
But it was not long before she became disillusioned. The tickets he had given her were in fact movie money, cash used on film sets of no value and readily available on the Internet. The victim had to resolve to file a complaint. The police of the general investigation unit of the Right Bank were seized of the file. They quickly made the connection with three other cases of the same ilk.
DNA was taken from the counterfeit banknotes and it ended up matching that of a 16-year-old teenager, not entirely unknown to the courts. He was summoned this Tuesday to the central police station and to the evidence gathered by the police during the investigation. He acknowledged the facts while minimizing them. This teenager is summoned before the children’s judge to be indicted.
