Ice Hockey. Luc Chauvel, Caen coach: “There really is better”

the Hockey Club of Caen tackles his fifth preparation match this Wednesday, September 22, 2021 (8:30 p.m.). The Drakkars, reassured by their last success over Cholet (0-2), find these same opponents four days later at home. Despite several absences, starting with those of two major players that are Oula Uski (broken foot) and Kévin Lorcher (back), Caen hopes to continue his progress while two defeats against Neuilly (4-7 and 1-2) had disappointed.
There is really something better but we must be much more regular in the application of the system. I’m happy to continue the matches (four in two weeks, Coupe de France include, editor’s note) to resolve all these little concerns.
Caen wants to take advantage of the last friendly matches to “find the automatisms and put the brain in competition mode”. Fundamentals remain at the heart of concerns. “We need to better control the last third against Cholet. These last matches will allow us to move forward on these stages. “
“A real dynamic of work”
The long preparation leaves, for the moment, imperfect lessons. “Unfortunately, we have not yet managed to be all together. There are always small glitches, physical or related to schooling. I knew this when I did a training camp in September. But it’s encouraging, the boys are in a real dynamic of work, they want to perform. “And the absences of some executives, like Jiry Marttinen who resumed a month after the others, allowed young people to express themselves.
Still two and a half weeks before D1
However, as the competition approaches, expectations are raising a notch. Most of the physical preparation is behind the Drakkars. “We’re starting to be in typical regular season weeks,” explains Luc Chauvel. The objective is to replenish the energy to reach full power on October 9. Caen will start the championship that day against Strasbourg. A week earlier, there will be a first Coupe de France match against Nantes. “We will be able to see where we will be. ”
