News | 18:18 – From Marseille to Avignon, vaccinated or not, they are against the obligation
They are vaccinated or not but all denounce the obligation. Like home helpers or firefighters, starting tomorrow to go to work, caregivers will have received at least one dose of vaccine against Covid-19.
A vaccination that some see as a “threat” from the government. Because without a complete vaccination schedule on October 15, the employment contract and the salary of the reluctant will be suspended. This morning at the call of the CGT union of the Hospitals of Avignon and Marseille, several hundred people shouted their opposition.
How many will be missing on September 15? In the meantime, some fear that absenteeism will penalize the hospital and its patients. “After a year and a half of the pandemic, we are still suffering from the same problems, lack of staff, no replacements, degraded working conditions” notes Guillaume Algrin, general secretary of the CGT Hôpitaux Sud union. A context in the hospital which could have serious consequences on patients according to Grégory Fontaine, nurse at the CHU de la Timone: “There are waves that we do not talk about too much, which are the delays in the management of diseases” .
In France this Wednesday, 2.7 million professionals will be affected by the vaccination obligation. According to Public Health France, on September 7, 88.1% of salaried nursing staff had received at least their first dose.
