San Marino. Walked football: activity has also begun on the Titano
With the first training sessions and tests carried out on January 25th, the project officially started Football Walked by the FSGC.
After the first meeting which took place at the Casa del Calcio last December, last week the members of the project moved to the Fonte dell’Ovo gym to familiarize themselves with this new activity. The project, organized by the Football Federation in collaboration with the Diabetes Center of the State Hospital, is dedicated to all type 2 diabetics over 50 who with this activity can keep fit but also have fun and socialize.
“It is a project that as a Federation we care a lot about – says the Responsible for the social responsibility of football of the FSGC Andrea Zoppi – and after a first phase launched in April 2022 we were able to start with a quarterly program that we hope will have a greater following in the future. Walking football, although different from the traditional one, remains a excellent vehicle to entertain even the less young and maintain socialization”.
Satisfaction also from the Diabetes Center, as the Dr. Letizia Ceccoli: “We are happy to take part in this project wanted by the FSGC. Movement is as important for combating a sedentary lifestyle for diabetic patients as medical therapy. We are curious to see what the results will be in the short term, with the hope that the project can continue and be like this healthier and happier patients”.
We also remind you that anyone wishing to take part in the project or simply want to get some more information, just call Federcalcio (tel. 0549-990515) or send an email to [email protected]
