The architect Valerio Castelli has died, he collaborated with the University of San Marino
Founder of the Domus Academy and of the Design Library in Milan, art director for decades of companies such as Flo, Kartell And Olivettiwinner of Golden Compass in 1977, the architect passed away on 29 January Valerio Castelli.
Born and raised in the world of design, Castelli graduated in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic. He founded, together with Alessandro Mendini, the magazine Modo of which he was art director from 1977 to 1982, while the following year, in 1983, he was one of the founders of Domus Academythe first postgraduate school of design, of which he was also the CEO from 2001 to 2003. He has given rise to numerous international initiatives in the design sector, including, most recently, the Design library of Milan, with offices also in Shanghai and Istanbul, where every Thursday (I Giovedì del design) for 8 years, from 2007 to 2015 with more than 230 conferences held, presented the most important personalities of international design. Since 2011, with his wife Caterina Mosca, he has directed Mosca Partners, a company that plans and implements international events in the design and culture sector.
