Blinken asks Al Sisi to mediate between Netanyahu and Abu Mazen
There are at least two hypotheses on the origin of the drone who hit a Iranian military aerospace research center. It could be an American request to ring, through Israeli agents residing in Iran, a drone factory that Tehran supplies to Moscow for the war against Kiev, hence the statement by Podolyak, adviser to Zelensky, who said: “Ukraine has warned you”. The response from the Iranian Foreign Ministry was not long in coming, summoning the ambassador from Kiev to ask for an official denial or there will be consequences. The second hypothesis is that Israel acted to protect its security by hitting a factory where Iran is developing hypersonic missiles for nuclear warheads with the help of Russia, which is why Moscow condemned the attack as “a threat to the sovereignty Iranian which could have unpredictable consequences”. He was echoed by a Russian commentator on state TV declaring: “We will support Iran with nuclear weapons for its rockets, so we will see if the Israeli Iron Dome anti-missile defense is really made of iron”. And an Iranian official told Al Jazeera TV that “there will be an answer and the attacks will not stop Tehran’s nuclear program.” But in the meantime, between Iraq and Syria, a convoy of 25 trucks full of Iranian missiles destined for Hezbollah in Lebanon has been hit. Finally today the US Secretary of State Blinkene arrived in Israel after stopping in Egypt to ask President Al Sisi about mediate between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Palestinian President Abu Mazen and avoid further clashes after the counter-terrorism operation against Islamic Jihad in its stronghold of Jenin in the West Bank, which was followed by the serious attack in Jerusalem against the faithful who left the synagogue. Blinken told Netanyahu that US-Israel ties remain strong despite everything, but Abu Mazen wants to stop coordination on security, while Netanyahu calls for measures against terrorists, such as simplifying the application of firearms for Israelis and the revocation of citizenship to families and bombers who receive compensation from the Palestinian Authority. We will see if Al Sisi and Blinken will be able to smooth out the positions of the two leaders.
