Di Meo had started collaborating with Rai Uno in 1985, first with ‘Italia Sera’, then with ‘Unomattina’. After a short experience at Telemontecarlocome back on Tg1 where in 1995 he became conductor, announcing the attack on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. Seven years after arrival on Tg2 and in 2008 he became deputy director. From 2009 to 2019 he was deputy director of Rai Uno. In January 2020, he was appointed director of cinema and TV series management and was entrusted to him the ad interim responsibility of the Rai Due Management. In September 2021 he was indicated by the Rai board of directors as the new general manager of San Marino Rtv, a position he has held since December 2021.
Thus the Company loses it, after only one year of its arrival. He had so many projects; he was working on it methodically and seriously; he wanted to put his long experience in Rai to good use to improve the product and give the structure a clearer and more decisive national imprint. He is tied to this land and its institutions, has been able to weave profitable relationships with politics and civil society; able liaison with Rome, he wanted us to be more open to the world at the same time with information windows from Washington and Brussels. We remember him for the good smilethe big hands and the powerful grip; there always ready jokethe ability to play down in every situation. We thank him for the trust he has placed in us.
