both drivers with high BAC
Still driving alcohol at night in Verona. This was revealed in a note today, Saturday 28 January, issued by the local police. According to what has been learned, in fact, shortly after 2 am on the night between Friday and Saturday, a Fiat 500 with a 31-year-old woman at the wheel, after losing control, allegedly “knocked down the traffic light in front of the Aleardi bridge” and then “removed from the place”.
The car, always explains the note from the local police, was later “traced in Lungadige Porta Vittoria”. The motorist was then “subjected to a breathalyzer” and, reports the local police, “she will be reported to the public prosecutor for having driven the vehicle with an alcohol content of more than three times the limit”. The traffic inconvenience caused by the flashing system in one of the most critical intersections of the city was huge.
Shortly after 3 o’clock last night, another autonomous spill would therefore have occurred, this time in via dell’Autiere and more exactly at the intersection with via del Fante, where the driver of a Jeep Gran Cherokee would have lost control. The driver, in this case “a 36-year-old from Verona”, according to the note from the local police of Verona “tested positive on the breathalyzer with an alcohol content of more than three times the limit”.
The local Verona police recall that “there were 350 people found positive for alcohol while driving in 2022, an average of one per day”. Another alarming figure always reported by the police is that of these motorists as many as “156 are involved in road accidents”, or rather “10% of all accidents detected by the local police of Verona”.
