THE TOP EVENT
Motorcycle exhibition
Motor Bike Expo 2023 Verona, the fair most important in the world dedicated to the customization of the bike, back to Friday 27 to Sunday 29 January at Veronafiere to amaze the large international public. A customary and trendy event where motorcyclists meet to touch the latest news first hand, to talk about their passion, engines, and to be inspired by the customization of their motorcycles.
DEMONSTRATIONS
Carnival in San Michele: Mastro Sogar parade
The Charity Committee of the Carnival of San Michelewith the contribution and patronage of the seventh district, invites all adults and children, Sunday 29 Januaryto the traditional parade of masks through the streets of the neighborhood with departure at 2.00 pm from the square of the Blessed Carlo Steeb Parish.
Playing with the Ludica
With the new year, the initiatives promoted by the second district together with the Ludica Scaligera association resume: for the whole day and with free admission, every room of the Parona Meeting Center in Piazza della Vittoria it will be dedicated to a type of game (miniatures, wood, board game, narrative game) to put families and children around tables, rediscovering sociality and being together through play. Each Sunday from January to May will also have a specific theme: Sunday 29 January: “The story and its protagonists”.
Ice skating rink in Verona
Verona hosts the large ice skating rink, set up in the tank of the former Arsenale for the Christmas period. The skating rink will remain in the city until Valentine’s Day. The cost of the ticket is 9 euros per hour, including skate rental.
The Nicolis Museum at the Motorb Bike Expo with the DeLorean DMC 12
The Nicolis Museum get back to Motor Bike Expo 2023, the international trade fair event dedicated to two-wheel lovers, collectors and also the general public, with a rich program of first-rate initiatives and performances. Pavilion 6 will be enlivened by an adrenaline-pumping explosion of activities thanks to colorful mascots, engines, live broadcasts of Radio Studio Plus and moments of entertainment dedicated to visitors, testifying that Veronafiere is an important player in the area also for families and city events. The iconic protagonist for the Nicolis will naturally be the DeLorean DMC 12on public display together with other unpublished means.
MUSIC
Olivier Messiaen’s masterpiece “Quartet for the end of time” at the Teatro Ristori
To the Ristori Theatre in Verona, Messiaen’s music which evokes the “end of time” as a longing for eternity and freedom, will be translated into dance on Memorial Day, Friday 27 January, by the ten dancers of Il Nuovo Balletto di Toscana, a significant presence of Italian dance since 1970. The live accompaniment is entrusted to the quartet with Antonino Siringo on the piano, Antonio Aiello on violino, on the cello Leonardo Sapere And Daniel Roscia on clarinet.
The Marriage of Figaro
The inauguration of Opera Season 2023 of the Arena di Verona Foundation is entrusted to the genius of Salzburg and his most brilliant and revolutionary comedy: between deceptions, smiles, recognitions and misunderstandings, love triumphs over social barriers in “The Marriage of Figaro”title included in the initiatives of the exhibition “Mozart in Verona”, which in its four performances at the Teatro Filarmonico also embraces the exact birthday of the composer. Appointment on Friday 27 January (at 8 pm) and Sunday 29 January (at 3.30 pm).

Sweet mood live at The factory of San Martino Buon Albergo Friday 27 January. Mellow Mood, led by the unstoppable reggae twins, are ready to start this 2023 continuing with the Mañana Tour, which will take them all over Europe in the next two months.

So it is (if you like)
“Il Grande Teatro”, an exhibition organized by the Municipality of Verona in collaboration with the Teatro Stabile di Verona, continues with “So it is (if you like)” by Luigi Pirandello directed by Luca De Fusco and starring Eros Pagni and Anita Bartolucci. “So it is (if you like)” goes on stage at TheatreNew at 20.45 until Saturday 28 January. The last replica, that of Sunday 29 January, is instead at 16.
Frida, a bomb wrapped in silk ribbons
To the Campolo Theatrefor the “L’Altro Teatro” review of the Municipality of Verona, it will be staged on Friday 27 January “Frida, a bomb wrapped in silk ribbons” by and with Laura Murari, directed by Andrea Castelletti. The show reveals the life of Frida Kahlo through her emotions and the transposition of some of her most significant works into stories.
Duparun
Saturday 28 January at 21.15 at the S.Teresa Theater the Estravagario presents the show “Duparun”loosely based on a classic by Carlo Goldoni, “The Servant of Two Masters”, directed by Alberto Bronzato.

CINEMA
Among the novelties coming out in Veronese cinemas we point out:
- The first day of my life – «A story about the strength to start over when everything around seems to be collapsing. Paolo Genovese tells it through the life of a man, two women and a boy who, convinced that they have reached rock bottom, meet a mysterious character who is able to give them a week of time to discover what the world could be like in their absence». Director: Paolo Genovese.
- The plane – «Brodie Torrance is a commercial pilot forced to make an emergency landing by a sudden and intense storm that damages his aircraft. Crew and passengers thus end up stranded on the island of Jolo, in the Philippines, an area occupied by armed militants who take the survivors hostage». Director: Jean-François Richet.
EXHIBITION
Piero Dorazio, the new painting. Works 1963-1968
The exhibition dedicated to the Italian painter Peter Dorazioamong the greatest representatives of European abstract art, is scheduled in Verona from 18 December 2022 to 30 April 2023. Set up in the exhibition spaces of the Achille Forti Modern Art Gallery and the Galleria dello Scudo, the strictly scientific exhibition is centered on a selection of over thirty paintings from the artist’s heirs and from public and private collections.
Arpad Weisz – When racism enters the field
A Palazzo Barbieri the exhibition “Arpad Weisz – When racism enters the field” from 13 January to 4 February 2023. An exhibition on Arpad Weisz, a Hungarian Jew, former Olympic athlete and coach who gave a lot to Italian football. He coached Ambrosiana-Inter, a team with which he won the Scudetto in 1930, and from 1935 to 1938 he led the Bologna football team to win the Scudetto twice in a row and the prestigious Cup at the Paris Exposition Tournament in 1937.
The “Imagine” exhibition at the National Archaeological Museum of Verona
To the National Archaeological Museum of Verona a small but precious photographic exhibition dedicated to Roman Valpolicella, the result of a long planning process that saw the collaboration of the Municipalities of Valpolicella with the structures designed by the Ministry of Culture, first of all the Superintendency and the regional direction of the Veneto Museums. The show will be open until 31 March 2023 during museum opening hours (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
Franzoia, Carlo Scarpa and the Castelvecchio Museum
In the Boggian room until March 26, 2023 a new exhibition to present to the public a special selection of the 1,600 drawings that the architect Ferruccio Franzoia, a pupil of Carlo Scarpa, donated to the Castelvecchio Museum.
Bubbles and cloud
At the spaces of the Cracao Art Gallery the exposure “Bubbles and Clouds”, personal exhibition of the artist Sebastiano Zanetti sponsored by the “Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona” and the Order of Architects PPC of the Province of Verona. On display until 29 January 2023 the entire cycle of works developed in the studio over the last year, fifteen works that bring the artist’s new pictorial and compositional vision
Animals in the ancient world
From 25 October 2022 to 1 October 2023 a new exhibition itinerary on the importance of animals in history and visible art al Archaeological Museum at the Roman Theater of Verona with the exhibition “Animals in the Ancient World”. On display for the first time, in addition to the metal representations conserved at the MATR, are some important finds from the Roman Domus discovered during excavations in the former Astra cinema in via Oberdan. 130 small objects exhibited. From animals in ancient Egypt to those idealized in the classical world for their important role in mythology and religion.
“The breath of nature/AQUA” at the Modern Art Gallery in Verona
It is water, a source of life and at the same time a destructive and chaotic element, the protagonist of the new contemporary exhibition set up at the Achille Forti Modern Art Gallery in the space “Contemporary Non-Stop. The breath of nature/AQUA” edited by Patrizia Nuzzo. The exhibition will be visible to the public from 28 October 2022 until October 2023.

Looking up
By Silvia Concari, Artericambi presents “Looking Up”, a project dedicated to the search for new artists and languages that emerge from today’s multitude. The first exhibition of this project, from 28 January to 11 March 2023is a collective of four artists all under thirty: Lorenzo Conte, Federica Cortese, Letizia Frescura and Claudia Sallustio.
