Musician Jürgen Vonbank new boss of the “Jazzit”
Culture
The “Jazzit Musikklub” in the city of Salzburg presented its new artistic director on Friday. In the future, 34-year-old Jürgen Vonbank from Vorarlberg will run the house. He is a trumpeter himself and has played in several big band projects.
Vonbank’s cultural and political commitment in Salzburg is also reflected in the co-founding of the “Salzburg Club Commission”, an interest group that advocates for the interests of local club culture and venues:
“Jazz experienced high flight”
Jürgen Vonbank has also been a guest DJ several times at Jazzit: “Jazzit is the perfect mix of institutionalized and authentic. One of the best jazz clubs in German-speaking countries. I have a lot in common with this music. They have just experienced a high so I am really looking forward to this task.”
From July alone at the helm
As the new artistic director and managing director, Vonbank succeeds the pioneer Andreas Neumayer. He founded Jazzit 21 years ago. Vonbank will take up his new post in July, until then the business will be managed jointly.
