Catarina Martins criticizes the silence of the majority; Bernardino Soares speaks of demagoguery about costs and Ferreira Leite hopes the Pope does not know about the controversy – Observer
Catarina Martins says she is “absolutely perplexed” by the stage and shoots in all directions. “Absolute majority is silent until now”
Catarina Martins also reacted to the controversy over the altar. Speaking to journalists, in an action by the Bloco de Esquerda in the Algarve, she shot in all directions, saying she was “absolutely perplexed” with the “contradictory” statements she heard from Carlos Moedas, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and the Church, but also with the “silence” of the absolute majority.
“What makes no sense is millions of decisions to be taken by direct adjustment, behind the back of the country, and the absolute majority that backed all of this is silent until now”, he shot. The majority, he recalled, “also decided that the Day would come, and how the money would be spent”.
“I was absolutely perplexed by the absolutely contradictory statements that did not explain anything from the Mayor of Lisbon, the President of the Republic and the Church”.
The leader of the Bloc recalls that the party was against raising the ceilings for direct adjustments and argues that if the objective was to “requalify the territory”, namely where the infamous stage will be set up, an open and “transparent” debate should be held on the subject matter.
