Hilcona creates space for 17,000 pallets with new building – Liechtenstein
SCHAAN – In just a few days, the second phase of the company expansion started on the Hilcona site. Specifically, it is about a new goods issue building and an automatic high-bay warehouse with over 17,000 pallet spaces. The construction work is scheduled to be completed in 2025. This is followed by another expansion stage.
This is what the high-bay warehouse and the outgoing goods building should look like in the end.

The new building project takes into account modern knowledge in terms of space utilization and workplace ergonomics, writes the Bell Food Group in a statement. They will also integrate the building into the landscape.
Before the new building project can be tackled, the existing building on the construction site must give way. According to the group, the demolition will start in January. Construction work on the high-bay warehouse and the outgoing goods building could also begin in the first quarter of this year. If everything goes according to plan, the warehouse with over 17,000 pallet spaces will go into operation at the end of 2024. A few months later, construction work on another production building is to begin.
Sustainability is in the foreground
The new building combines design, functionality and sustainability. According to the group, a drainage concept with a waste water treatment system and a PV system on the roof contribute to these factors. The solar power flows into the building services, where heat pump heating systems and heat recovery systems are used, which heat or cool as required, according to the statement. In addition, all building roofs would be greened.
