2023 Abroad “Happy Chinese New Year” online gala invites international friends
Tour around Beijing for Happy Chinese New Year
Beijing, China–(Newsfile Corp. – January 23, 2023) – The 2023 Overseas “Happy Chinese New Year” Online Gala is sponsored by the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, the City of Helsinki and the Chinese Embassies of Finland, Estonia and Greece, Belgium and Canada. The event is organized by the Beijing Culture and Tourism Office and the Culture and Leisure Department of the City of Helsinki, and is produced and delivered by the Beijing Cultural Exchange Center for Foreigners, the China Cultural Center in Athens and the Helsinki City Cultural Center Caisa.

The online gala revolving around the theme “Circle-Beijing-Beijing-style” has selected four “most Beijing-style” routes, namely “Beijing’s most beautiful central axis”, “Beijing’s most beautiful leisure spots”, “Beijing-style cultural street” and “The best Beijing food”. Tourist destinations are visited by foreign friends from five countries.
There will also be four top-notch cultural performances performed live in various art forms such as music, dance and martial arts. Hostess Li Yangwei of Beijing Radio and Television Station has been invited to talk with international guests; The selected shows focus on showcasing both China’s excellent traditional culture and Beijing’s contemporary art and spirit.
The event invites Chinese and foreign friends to the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center for a joyful gathering. They visit the Global Zodiac Design Competition exhibition, share memories of life in Beijing and the Spring Festival, taste Spring Festival dishes, and exchange New Year’s gifts.
The “Happy Chinese New Year-China-Hellas Young Musicians Concert” was held at the Athens Conservatory Concert Hall on January 14th, with an audience of over 600 people. 15 artists from China and Greece performed on the same stage.
In Helsinki, the capital of Finland, a Chinese New Year parade is also organized on the main shopping street on New Year’s Eve (January 21, 2023). A group of local artists perform dragon and lion dances and firework displays. Spring festival activities are organized in several cultural centers
A photo exhibition of emerging cultural and tourist attractions in Beijing, a project to promote inbound tourism and an exhibition of Chinese zodiac cultural and creative products also toured the Greek and Estonian capitals of Athens and Tallinn.
