San Marino, Covid: 30 new cases and 84 recoveries last week
In the period between 16 and 22 January 2023, the Social Security Institute of the Republic of San Marino recorded 30 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, following 813 swabs carried out (positive rate on a weekly at 3.69%). In the same week there were 84 healings and the average number of hospitalized is equal to 5.
Overall, the total number of people infected from the beginning of the pandemic until midnight yesterday is 23,403 of which: 36 active positives (19 females, 17 males, average age 62), 122 deaths and 23,245 recoveries. To date there are 4 people hospitalized and positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, all in isolation rooms and none in the Intensive Care Unit.
The total swabs performed are 191,971, of which 35,581 on single people.
The table below summarizes the trend of the last few weeks relating to the swabs carried out, the total number of new positive cases found, the percentage of new positives in relation to the total number of swabs (positivity rate) and the healings.
Anti-COVID vaccination campaign
The total number of vaccinations registered in San Marino since the beginning of the Campaign is 73,518, of which 24,345 people vaccinated with the first dose and 26,709 with the second dose or with the single dose.
81.87% of the resident vaccinable population aged 5 years or more has completed the primary immunization cycle.
There are 22,464 administrations concerning booster doses (boosters).
The ISS recalls that it is possible to book the second booster dose (second booster) with the new anti-Covid vaccine (Comirnaty Original / Omicron BA. 4-5 produced by Pfizer / BioNTech). For booking it is recommended to use the online service, accessible from the home page of the ISS website (www.iss.sm), contact or the CUP by calling from Monday to Friday, from 8 to 18 at the number 0549 994889.
“Finally, he remembers – writes the ISS – that to access any structure of the Institute for Social Security, such as hospitals, pharmacies, health centres, clinics, and all offices from located throughout San Marino, it is necessary to wear an FFP2 mask and respect physical distancing and frequency of washing or sanitizing hands”.
