Alexander Ospelt new OPA Vice President – Liechtenstein
KITZBÜHEL The new Executive Committee of the Ski Associations of the Alpine Countries, which also includes LSV President Alexander Ospelt as Vice President, decided on more intensive cooperation.
As part of the Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbühel, the constitutive meeting of the extended executive committee of the organization of the Alpine country ski associations took place. The new President of the Organization des Fédérations de Ski des pays alpins (OPA.) is Roswitha Stadlober (Austrian Ski Association). She is supported by the two Vice Presidents Franz Steinle (German Ski Association) and Alexander Ospelt (Liechtenstein Ski Association) in the extended Executive Committee. In their first joint meeting, the new OPA management agreed to intensify cross-border cooperation.
Founded in 1972
The organization of the Alpine country ski associations was founded in 1972 and initially consisted of national ski associations from the Alpine region. The primary goal is to take young athletes to the next higher level of competition and to give them their first international experience. This proven cooperation is to be continuously expanded and intensified in the coming years.
The following nations currently belong to the organization of the Alpine country ski associations: Andorra, Germany, France, Italy, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
In addition to these 13 member associations of the OPA. other national ski associations have already expressed an interest in membership. “In the past few days we have had numerous constructive discussions, all of which went in this direction,” explained OPA President Roswitha Stadlober. “We look forward to registering further partner countries in the OPA. to welcome.
