“Work 77 hours a week” – parcel delivery man unpacks – Salzburg
At a parcel service in Salzburg, employees have to work 77 hours a week and spend the night at the motorway parking lot – 50 ads were placed!
Incredible details from a major raid on a parcel service in Salzburg. The financial police have accused the postman of illegal work, bogus self-employment and other abuses. After the raid in December, dozens of reports were filed for violations of social security, registration and motor vehicle laws.
77 hours of work per week is not uncommon
91 freighters and 20 other people were checked during the unannounced major inspection. Some of the statements made by the employees caused the investigators to ring alarm bells. “We have to work up to 77 hours a week, have no accommodation and stay overnight at the motorway rest area,” said one of the men checked.
Others would have had to spend nights with up to seven people in a room in a makeshift mattress camp. They would have owed superiors fines of up to 500 euros if a tour was canceled due to illness or vacation.
Over 50 violations are now displayed
In total, more than 50 notifications have now been sent to district administration authorities. The labor market service and the health insurance fund were also informed. The presumption of innocence applies.
