The program of the 20th Franco-German Week in Toulouse
Franco-German Week, which takes place this year from January 21 to 31, celebrates in both countries the Elysée Treaty of January 22, 1963, which sealed renewed Franco-German friendship. In Toulouse, it will also mark the 20th anniversary of the cooperation agreement with Düsseldorf.
The Town Hall of Toulouse and the Goethe Institut join forces with many partners and invite Toulouse residents to come and discover Germany and its culture, exchange and meeting programs, as well as study and employment opportunities in the neighboring country. Open to a wide public, German-speaking or not, this Franco-German event gives pride of place to culture – music, cinema, theatre, reading, conferences… – and exchanges.
Among the highlights:
• Climate cooperation initiatives
In addition to a 20-year friendship, Toulouse and Düsseldorf have strong climatic similarities: studies have shown that by the end of the 21st century, temperatures in Düsseldorf will approach those of Toulouse today.
A stand common to both will present the initiatives of fight and adaptation to climate change of the cities will react among others within the framework of the European project Life Green Heart and will diffuse videos carried out by young people of Toulouse, Düsseldorf and Tunis on the theme of global warming. climate.

• Launch by the Mayors of Toulouse and Düsseldorf of the project 100 young ambassadors of climate twin cities
On January 26 at 3 p.m., to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty, Stéphan Keller, Mayor of Düsserldorf and Jean-Luc Moudenc, Mayor of Toulouse, President of Toulouse Métropole will open a conference in the presence of a great witness, Béatrice Angrand, former Secretary General of the Franco-German Office for Youth and former President of the Civic Service Agency/French agency Erasmus+ Youth and Sport.
They will launch the project “100 young ambassadors of the climatic twin cities Toulouse and Düsseldorf to celebrate Franco-German friendship” which will run until June 2023.

Europe is a rapper from Toulouse, in love with hip-hop, who appropriates the codes of a more current rap while remaining authentic.
Singer-songwriter Juliane Blumt and her four musicians hail from Düsseldorf. They carry poetic texts accompanied by original music.
