Ordinance against the “malamovida”, renewal in Pisa for the activities of the center
The ordinance for the regulation of activities in the historic city center to combat the “malamovida” has been extended until 30 September 2023. The ordinance, agreed with the city’s trade associations who just recently signed the “Pact for urban decorum and responsible nightlife 2023”, was approved last July and expired on Sunday 15 January.
The deed provides that from today, 21 January, and until next 30 September, public establishments, commercial establishments and craft establishments within zones A and B of the historic center had to cease their activity by 1.00 on the days from Sunday to Thursday; by 2.00 on days between Friday and Saturday and between Saturday and Sunday. Furthermore, the activities cannot be resumed before 6.00 am of the following day. A period of thirty minutes is allowed, after closing time, to arrange the external furnishings and carry out the cleaning activities inside, without any administration or sale.
The ordinance also provides that “in the event of excessive crowding in squares or other delimited public spaces, in order to protect the health and safety of people, the personnel of the police forces on duty have the right to proceed with the temporary closure of the square, without prejudice to the possibility of access/outflow to public establishments booked in advance by the customer and to private security residences with which the Municipality of Pisa has entered into contracts for the provision of the service. The activity of the aforementioned personnel will, in any case, be , directed and supported by the Municipal Police and by the other police forces in service”.
