Andorra City Council allocates 2,200 euros to the Colegio de la Luz Association
Andorra City Council has allocated 2,200 euros to the Colegio de la Luz Association, within the framework of a collaboration agreement with this entity linked to the local Gloria Fuertes special education center.
The consistory contributes in this way to the “development of activities in the field of social promotion” through agreements with “associations that work in matters of health and improvements for the well-being of the population,” it states in the text of the agreement released.
The president of the Colegio de la Luz and retired director of Gloria Fuertes, Alfonso Lázaro, thanked the acting mayor, Joaquín Bielsa, for supporting this non-profit entity that works “for research and study, for the insertion in working life, for inclusion in the dynamics of social and cultural life, in short, for the recognition and visibility of people with disabilities,” the council said in a press release. For his part, Bielsa recalled that the City Council will always support this type of action that will contribute to “provide visibility and improve the lives” of people with intellectual disabilities.
Colegio de la Luz emerged in 2018 with the main objective of bringing together all those people who, from the beginning and along the way, have given support to any of the activities generated at Gloria Fuertes, and to continue researching and working in projects for the education of people with disabilities. He has made various publications, especially focused on psychomotricity, one of the emblematic projects of the school since it began its journey four decades ago.
